Two Lecturers from the Institut Teknologi PLN Earn Doctoral Degrees

Jakarta, March 10, 2024 – Two lecturers from the Institut Teknologi PLN (ITPLN), Dr. Muhammad Ahsan from The Faculty of Energy Technology and Business and Dr. Puji Catur Siswipraptini from The Faculty of Energy Telematics, have successfully obtained doctoral degrees from two different prestigious universities. On January 16, 2024, Dr. Ahsan defended his dissertation titled “Factors Affecting Customer Satisfaction and Its Impact on Repurchase Decisions of Electricity Consumers of PT PLN (Persero) in Indonesia Moderated by Government Regulations” at Dr. Soetomo Surabaya University. Meanwhile, on February 22, 2024, Dr. Puji successfully defended her dissertation titled “Personalization Model of Student Careers in the Computer Science Bachelor’s Program in Indonesia” at Bina Nusantara University.
ITPLN Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Iwa Garniwa M K., MT, highly appreciates the achievements of these lecturers. “Congratulations to Dr. Ahsan and Dr. Puji, their accomplishments further strengthen ITPLN’s position towards becoming an international and applied university. Their achievements provide inspiration for other lecturers,” said Prof. Iwa.
Dr. Ahsan’s research analyzed the factors influencing customer satisfaction and its impact on the repurchase decision of electricity consumers, with the role of government regulations moderating the influence of customer satisfaction on the repurchase decision of electricity consumers. The research utilized a questionnaire with a sample of 250 PLN electricity customers distributed throughout Indonesia, processed using SPSS Statistics V25.

The results revealed that firstly, customer satisfaction with electricity was significantly influenced by price, distribution channels, promotions, and service quality. Secondly, the repurchase decision of electricity consumers was significantly influenced by price, promotions, service quality, and customer satisfaction. Thirdly, simultaneously, customer characteristics, product, price, distribution channels, promotions, and service quality significantly affected customer satisfaction and repurchase decisions. Fourthly, customer satisfaction was able to mediate the influence of price, distribution channels, promotions, and service quality on repurchase decisions, but was unable to mediate customer characteristics and product. Lastly, government regulations did not affect repurchase decisions and did not strengthen the influence of customer satisfaction on repurchase decisions of electricity consumers.
Dr. Puji’s research focused on the personalization of student careers in the computer science bachelor’s program in Indonesia. The study identified that the competencies of university graduates in computer science and informatics did not fully meet industry needs. The research resulted in a career personalization model that provided job recommendations in the field of computer science based on students’ personality types and supporting elective courses.
Both lecturers have shown high dedication and commitment to pursuing knowledge and academic development. Their achievements are not only a source of pride for ITPLN but also make significant contributions to the academic and industrial world.
