INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI PLN ESTABLISHING PARTNERSHIPS WITH MIDDLE SCHOOLS IN GARUT REGENCY

GARUT, 11 November 2021 – PLN Institute of Technology signed a Cooperation Agreement with 59 schools in the Garut Regency area combined from Vocational High Schools (SMK), High Schools (SMA), and Madrasah Aliyah (MA) at the Ballroom Favehotel Garut, Thursday (11/11).

The purpose of holding this cooperation agreement is the implementation of the ITPLN BRAVO (Bridging and Recognizing Academic Values Opportunity) program which is a collaboration program in bridging and recognizing opportunities for academic values in formal or non-formal educational institutions by ITPLN educational institutions through one of the new student admission programs at ITPLN. In addition, this Cooperation Agreement can be interpreted as a reference in the registration of new ITPLN student candidates for the 2022/2023 Academic Year.

At the signing ceremony of this collaboration script, it began with the screening of the ITPLN campus profile video which was watched enthusiastically by the representatives of the teachers who were present. The signing ceremony of the cooperation script was carried out by the Vice Rector I of ITPLN for Academic Affairs Mr. Luqman, ST., M.Kom with the Counselling Guidance Teacher (BK) / representatives from every SMA, MA, and SMK throughout Garut Regency.

On this occasion, the Rector of ITPLN, Prof. Dr. Ir. Iwa Garniwa, MT was present along with the Vice Rectors, Head of the Rectorate, Manager of Cooperation Section, Head of Marketing and Admissions Section, Head of ITCC ITPLN, as well as several ITPLN lecturers and staff.

In his speech, ITPLN Chancellor Prof. Iwa Garniwa conveyed several important things, namely: “ITPLN was established 22 years ago called the YPLN Technical College then in January 2020 transformed into the PLN Institute of Technology, with the slogan Modern, Independent, and Superior, therefore at this time we must be able to move forward with the vision and mission that is sharp and right on target, and collaborates a lot with agencies or institutions as well as the industrial and business world.

Besides that, Prof. Iwa Garniwa also emphasized that ITPLN is one of the campuses that are members of the BUMN APERTI, namely the Higher Education Association under the auspices of BUMN. ITPLN has 4 faculties that do not have to accept school graduates from science programs, but also those from social sciences.

At the end of his speech, the Rector of ITPLN also added that currently ITPLN alumni, apart from being able to become entrepreneurs, have also worked in well-known companies, both private and state-owned, especially PT PLN (Persero) and its subsidiaries.

The speech was continued by the Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Mr. Luqman, ST, M.Kom who explained about the ITPLN BRAVO program and among his explanations said, “In ITPLN there is a class program for learning assignments, namely lecture classes for employees, and the program has been opened new study programs at ITPLN”.

At the signing of this collaboration text from the school, the coordinators of BK SMA / SMK / MA teachers in Garut Regency were present, namely Mr. Daryono, Mr. Helmi, and Mr. Apip. In his speech Mr. Helmi thanked Prof. Iwa Garniwa and the ITPLN staff who were present introduced and promoted Institut Teknologi PLN to SMA/SMK/MA in Garut Regency and he also said that SMA/SMK/MA were waiting for the implementation of the ITPLN program because of the Cooperation Agreement.

The event was continued with an explanation of the procedure for registering new students to ITPLN by the Head of Marketing and Admission Section Mr. Andi Dahroni, S.T., M.Kom which explained in it the ITPLN new student admission programs which included student admission programs from the BUMN APERTI scholarship pathway, Indonesian Smart Card, academic and non-academic achievement scholarships, and other scholarship programs.

Furthermore, a question-and-answer discussion was held about ITPLN which was answered directly by the Rector of ITPLN and Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs and the Marketing and Admissions Section.

The event ended with a photo session with the ITPLN leadership with the guidance and counselling teachers, then continued with a friendly and welcoming lunch.
