MOMENT OF AGREEMENT SIGNING BETWEEN ITPLN AND SMKN 2 BEKASI

The need for new and renewable energy (EBT) in Indonesia is increasing, of course the preparation of experts in this field must be prepared early. This is what encourages collaboration between the Institut Teknologi PLN and the Bekasi 2 State Vocational High School (SMK 2 Bekasi) in the fields of Research, Community Service, Development, and Utilization of Resources.

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding was held on Monday, November 1, 2021, in the Sedyatmo Room, 4^th floor of ITPLN at 10.00 WIB. The event was attended by the Rector of ITPLN Prof. Dr. Ir. Iwa Garniwa M K, MT; Vice Rectors, Section Managers, Deans of Faculties at ITPLN, Principal of SMKN 2 Bekasi Mr. Agus Wimbadi, M.Pd and their staff.

In his speech, Prof. Iwa Garniwa expressed his appreciation to SMKN 2 Bekasi which has focused on New Renewable Energy and the Biomass Energy Engineering department at SMKN 2 Bekasi in line with the knowledge at ITPLN. With this collaboration, it is possible that students or teachers at SMKN 2 Bekasi can carry out training or practice in laboratories at ITPLN, especially with the newly inaugurated Biomass and Waste Gasification Laboratory.

Meanwhile, Mr. Agus Wimbadi expressed his hope that this collaboration could be an “opening door” for future collaborations, because apart from the New and Renewable Energy department at SMKN 2 Bekasi, there are still several majors related to the Study Programs at SMKN 2 Bekasi with the study programs at Institut Teknologi PLN.

After the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was carried out, the event was completed with the awarding of awards from SMKN 2 to ITPLN which was received by the Vice Rector 4 for Cooperation, then continued with a visit to the PLTS Laboratory, Waste to Energy Center, and Mini PLTU Laboratory.

We hope that this collaboration will bring benefits to both parties.
