5-November-2020 is the first day and the first wave of the Distribution Competency Test conducted by participants from Papua and monitored directly by the President Director of PT Sentra Teknologi Terapan (PT. STT), the Rector of Institut Teknologi PLN, and assessors who expert in that field.
In the first wave of this competency test, the distribution field, with 21 students from the Papua Regional Government as participants. On the first day, the students looked serious in participating in the theoretical briefing in the field of electricity distribution. The Competency Test on the first day was conducted for 9 hours starting at 08.00 – 17.00 WIB.
After getting the learning theory, later the participants will work on the questions from the organizers. The Competency Test Place (TUK) used is a TUK belonging to Institut Teknologi PLN which is quite complete with facilities and according to certification requirements.
STT as the organizer of the competency test in collaboration with ITPLN looks serious in building quality Human Resources (HR) in the electricity sector through training and competency testing.
President Director of PT. STT Dr. Ir. Pawenary, M.T., MPM explained, currently there are 2 waves of this competency test, namely: The first wave today, 5-7 November 2020, with 21 students from the Papua regional government, and the second wave on 9-11 November 2020, 22 students from IT-PLN – PLN (Persero) Cooperation Class. The rest are already queuing up for the next wave from agencies/institutions and individuals who want to take part in certification.
“Certification is very important for workers in the electricity sector because in issuing certification not just anyone is chosen. Therefore, we take this competency test seriously with direct monitoring by assessors who are experts in their fields, “he said.
As for the current Chief Assessor, Nurmiati S.T., M.T., Assessor 1 Ir. Ipung Purwomarwanto, ME., MBA., Assessor 2 Mr. Tony Koerniawan, S.T., M.T., and Person in Charge of Engineering Novi Gusti Pahiyanti, S.T., M.T.
Pawenary added that this exam is one of the competency certifications offered from 4 Competency Certifications, namely (Generation Sector, Transmission Sector, Distribution Sector, and Midwife for Electricity Utilization Installation (IPTL).
“The first day was briefing on theory and then continued with the exam, the second day was online practice, and the third day was an oral test or interview,” he explained.
In the first day of competency test activities, Prof. Dr. Ir. Iwa Garniwa Mulyana, M.T. said that this competency test is one of the conditions agreed upon between the campus and the students who will graduate and complete their studies at Institut Teknologi PLN by obtaining in addition to a diploma and transcript, students will also get a certificate of competence accompanying a diploma (SKPI) as required by Dikti currently.
