MOU COOPERATION SIGNING BETWEEN ITPLN AND PJCI

Institut Teknologi PLN (ITPLN) has again expanded its collaboration with companies in the electricity sector, particularly Smart Grid and Smart Energy. On Friday, June 12, 2020, at 14.00, ITPLN signed an MOU in cooperation with the Indonesian Smart Network Initiative (PJCI). This MoU includes cooperation in the fields of Education, Training, Consulting, and Research on Smart Grid & Smart Energy.

The signing ceremony was conducted online through the Zoom platform, which was also witnessed by Mr. Ikhsan Asaad, Mega Project Director of PT PLN (Persero); Tim Buckley, Director of Energy Finance Studies,

Australia/South Asia at IEEFA; Frederic Fontan, Chief Representative and Director Indonesia at EDF; and Patrick Charignon, VP Asia at EDF Renewables.

After the MoU signing, the event continued with an online Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the theme Boosting Renewable Energy Investment to Accelerate Indonesia’s Energy Transition. Prof. Dr. Ir. Iwa Garniwa M K, MT as the Rector of IT-PLN together with Prof. Tumiran acts as respondent / reviewer for the material that has been delivered by the speakers. The FGD was attended by around 300 participants.

In the FGD, one of the discussions was that the ongoing pandemic spurred businesspeople to be able to present sustainable business concepts, including by utilizing renewable energy.

The event was also broadcast live through Institut Teknologi PLN Facebook page and Youtube live via the Energy Academy Indonesia channel.

Hopefully, this collaboration can improve the quality of education at ITPLN.
