ITPLN Participates in the International Symposium on Advanced Nuclear Materials Application Technology (ANMA) in China.

China, March 24, 2024 – Institut Teknologi PLN (ITPLN) reaffirmed its commitment to becoming a World Class University and participating in the development of nuclear technology and energy by being one of the speakers at the International Symposium on Advanced Nuclear Materials Application Technology (ANMA) held in Sanya, Hainan, China, on March 22-24, 2024.

The event provided a platform for experts and practitioners in the field of nuclear energy to share knowledge, experiences, and the latest findings in advanced nuclear material technology and applications. In this event, ITPLN was the sole representative of Indonesia.

Dr. Ir. M. Ahsin Sidqi, M.M., IPU., ASEAN. Eng, representing ITPLN, presented a paper entitled “Collaboration Opportunities and Resource Readiness on Indonesia’s Capabilities to Accelerate Nuclear Power Generation in The Carbon Neutral Energy Transition”.

The energy transition is an urgent matter for all countries worldwide, particularly for developed and developing nations alike. In Indonesia, the essence of the energy transition is to eliminate CO2 emissions by 2060, which could be accelerated to 2050 through international collaboration in both funding strategies and technology. The paper also discussed collaboration opportunities and Indonesia’s resource readiness in accelerating nuclear energy generation during the transition to carbon-neutral energy.

“In order to achieve a sustainable energy transition, it is important for Indonesia to consider the role of nuclear energy as one of the environmentally friendly options that can accelerate the achievement of carbon neutrality targets,” stated Dr. Ahsin Sidqi.
