Jakarta, March 27, 2024 –Institute of PLN Technology (ITPLN) took to the airwaves through a Talk Show on Elshinta Radio 90.00 FM in March 26, 2024. On this occasion, ITPLN Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Iwa Garniwa M K, MT, along with the Public Relations Manager and Stakeholders Drs. Bambang Dwiyanto, discussed how ITPLN serves as a pillar within PLN to provide excellent Human Resources (HR) in the energy field.
Together with host Bhery Hamzah, they delved deeper into the acceptance of new students at ITPLN and the collaboration with the PLN Group involving more than 250 members. Among them, 150 are for the top-ranked candidates during the entrance test, while the remaining 100 are for the best graduates.
Prof. Iwa stated, “Our scope is not only domestic, but we also open ourselves to the international arena, and one of them is cooperation with Japan, internships, and work opportunities in Japan, so our graduates can be channeled to Japan.”
“For domestic opportunities, even during internships, they are facilitated by the PLN Group, so interns can choose to intern wherever they want, depending on their place of origin. Additionally, we provide various facilities, including providing tablets for students,” added Prof. Iwa.
Drs. Bambang mentioned, “The requirements are easy, both for high school graduates (Science and Social Sciences) and vocational school graduates. Many programs can be entered by Social Sciences or other students, even though the name is technology-oriented. There will be an entrance test to ensure our standards.”
Bhery remarked, “It’s an extraordinary campus that has received awards from the National Energy Council (DEN) with all its facilities, and this campus is heading towards becoming a World Class University. In just one year, there have been many changes since the last time we met last year.”
One of ITPLN’s efforts in preparing outstanding HR in the energy field is the implementation of the 4–4–2 learning system, with 40% theory, 40% problem-solving, and 20% industry lectures. “The 4–4–2 learning system is to prepare graduates to enter the industrial world, truly ready for work and use.”
ITPLN has four faculties, postgraduate schools, and vocational schools, as well as 17 study programs at the S2, S1, and D3 levels. Some facilities for students include guaranteed internships in the PLN group, competency certificates, smart classes, and the 4-4-2 system, lectures by practitioners and corporate experts, E-mobility to international universities, energy transition laboratories, and various educational scholarships. ITPLN has obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification for Quality Management Systems and ISO 21001:2018 certification for Educational Organization Management Systems. In delivering educational services, ITPLN adheres to principles of responsible, accessible, and fair quality education for all participants.
