Jakarta – Institut Teknologi PLN (ITPLN) received a return visit from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) Malaysia from May 5th to 11th, 2024. Previously, ITPLN had conducted a benchmarking study visit to UNITEN from October 24th to November 2nd, 2024. E-Mobility is one of the programs at Institut Teknologi PLN to support student learning processes.
During their visit, UNITEN was represented by the Director of International Office Dr. Hidayah Sulaiman, International Office Head of Mobility Ms. Azlina, Senior Lecturer Dr. Rosima Alias, Marketing Fellow Mr. Mohd Arif Tarmizi, and several UNITEN students who were warmly received by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Power and Renewable Energy Adri Senen ST., MT., and the Coordinator of the International E-Mobility Program UNITEN Malaysia-ITPLN Andi Makkulau ST., M.I.Kom., MT, along with ITPLN students at Soekarno Hatta International Airport.
ITPLN Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Iwa Garniwa M K, M.T., IPU. stated that this program is part of student exchange, where students from each university are expected to attend classes at their partner campuses for a short period, such as 1 month, 3 months, or even 1 semester, and to build relationships between universities through student visits to each other’s campuses.
“The exchange of knowledge and the creation of an international atmosphere on campus, as well as research collaboration between countries or universities, are also expected,” he added.
During their seven-day visit, UNITEN students and lecturers visited several facilities owned by the PLN Group and ITPLN. Starting from the Waste to Energy facility at the ITPLN campus, Muara Karang Power Plant (Hydrogen Power Plant & Muara Karang Gas Power Plant), and Kamojang Geothermal Power Plant. It was a valuable opportunity for UNITEN and ITPLN students to witness the energy generation process firsthand.
The E-Mobility Program is one of the programs at Institut Teknologi PLN aimed at creating students who can study at foreign universities. Considering that besides UNITEN, there are also renowned universities worldwide that have collaborated, such as Auckland University (New Zealand), Kookmin University (South Korea), Slovak University of Technology (Slovakia), and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (Malaysia).
