ITPLN Rector Receives “Electricity and Energy Figure” Award from Majalah Listrik Indonesia

Jakarta, May 3, 2024 – The Rector of Institut Teknologi PLN (ITPLN), Prof. Dr. Ir. Iwa Garniwa M K, MT., has been honored as an “Electricity and Energy Figure” with the predicate “Academic Who Focuses On Electrical Energy Development” by the Indonesian Electricity Magazine.

The editorial team of the Indonesian Electricity Magazine conducted research from various data sources related to the field. The awards ceremony featured 15 categories of awards honoring 45 companies operating in the electricity and energy sectors. The event coincided with the 15th anniversary of Indonesia’s Electricity Day, held May 2 at the Ballroom of Hotel Mulia Jakarta.

The event was attended by the Secretary of the National Energy Council, Djoko Siswanto, the Director General of Energi Baru Terbarukan dan Konservasi Energi (EBTKE) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Prof. Dr. Eng. Eniya Listiani Dewi, B.Eng, M.Eng., IPU, the Vice President of Distribution of PLN (Persero) Agung Nugraha, the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Indonesian Electricity Magazine, Dr. Ir. Herman Darnel Ibrahim, M.Sc., IPU, members of the Advisory Board of the Indonesian Electricity Magazine, Prof. Tumiran, and others.

Eniya Listiani stated, “I sincerely hope that this award from the Indonesian Electricity Magazine will be like a snowball effect, encouraging and spreading to industries not only within this room but also impacting the surrounding environment.”

The awards were given with the intention of motivating and encouraging all stakeholders, industries, and individuals who have contributed to the development of electrical and energy infrastructure.

Prof. Iwa Garniwa remarked, “This is a blessing from Allah SWT and a pride for both myself and ITPLN, that with commitment and consistency, we can achieve this. Hopefully, this can inspire the academic community of ITPLN.”

Moreover, Prof. Iwa also emphasized that the dynamics of knowledge follow the needs of society and the times, which is closely related to the field of education itself. Therefore, the faculties and study programs at ITPLN are aligned with the needs of the times.

Indonesia has set a target of Net Zero Emissions by 2060. To achieve this, all parties need to play a role, and ITPLN is taking the lead in providing excellent human resources in the field of energy.
