INITIAL TESTING OF THE GASIFIER PACKAGE EQUIPMENT AS A FUEL PRODUCER FOR MINI PLTU AT ITPLN

Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 10.00 WIB, an initial testing activity for the gasifier package equipment from Institut Teknologi PLN with the vendor, CV. Mustarindo Graha Engineering located in Jatinangor, Sumedang where Mr. Maskan Mustari is the Director. Mr. Maskan made a presentation at Institut Teknologi PLN which was attended by the Rector of ITPLN Prof. Dr. Ir. Iwa Garniwa Mulyana K., MT along with
the Vice Rectors, Daily Chair of YPK-PLN Mr. Ir. Djoko Paryoto, Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Energy Business Drs. Prayudi, MT, MM, and Head of the Mechanical Engineering Bachelor Study Program, Mrs. Roswati Nurhasanah, ST, MT.
The gasifier trial phase at Institut Teknologi PLN was carried out to make gas fuel produced from the downdraft type gasifier reactor, which later the gas produced would be used to replace the mini PLTU fuel at ITPLN which was previously diesel fuelled into syngas.
Mr. Prayudi explained that this activity was a test of gasifier equipment to produce blue flames using biomass. For the testing stage, a heating or preheat process is carried out for 3 hours until the temperature of the tool reaches a minimum temperature of 400 degrees Celsius. After reaching that temperature, it is filled with biomass until a temperature that can be reached around 700 degrees Celsius, further explanation from Mr. Prayudi.
It is hoped that this gasifier tool will be able to maximize the use of mini PLTU at Institut Teknologi PLN as a producer of electrical energy which initially uses diesel to turn into gas as fuel so that later it can be further developed and produce electrical energy that can be utilized.
